A fulfillment of Isaiah
Isa 53:7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
V.62 "Every eye will see Him"
Rev 1:7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

Christ will return and establish justice forever!
Heb 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

•Assured that the taxes went to Rome
•Decided cases involving capital punishment
V.2-4 Three charges
Luke 23:2 And they began to accuse him, saying, "We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Christ, a king."
V.5 “and Pilate was amazed”
John 19:10 "Don't you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?" 11 Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above...12 From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free
Mrs. Pilate appeals

Why was Barabbas released?
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
2 Cor 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
